Owner and company director Sam Smith has lived in the Cotswolds all his life and is now settled in Stroud with his wife and three grown up children. Sam gained his experience in the craft of hard landscaping and dry stone walling through many creative roles, studying horticulture and landscape at Hartpury University and working alongside other established landscape gardeners in Gloucestershire. Sam comes from a long line of artists, with generations of creativity running through his family. This rich artistic heritage has helped him develop a remarkable eye for detail, allowing him to see and appreciate the nuances that others might miss.

Originally named Sam Smith Stonework, the company was founded in 2008. It was decided to change name to Sam Smith Landscapes Ltd to reflect the extensive work the Company offer. Primarily focusing on traditional dry stone walling, the company also offers a wide range of soft and hard landscaping to suit the need of the client. Specialising in the building and restoration of Cotswold dry stone walling (free standing and retaining), gateways, entrances and arches, garden ponds and water features, paving, terracing, driveways and parking areas.

The company is very much a family business built of an enthusiastic and dedicated workforce; Sam’s brother in law who works alongside Sam has over 20 years experience in landscaping, giving them a total of 30+years combined experience and knowledge. Sam’s wife, Dawn, is the Company Director/Administrator.
